Another symptom of bad front control arm bushings is the fact that everytime you go over a speedbump, onramp/driveway, large crack, or quickly brake the car and hear a clunk, it's much more likely that the rear control arm bushing, commonly referred to as the "CAB" is worn.
There will be a looseness in the front end at higher speeds, and this can lead to a wobbling and will contributed to a shimmy on braking. Also, when it gets pretty bad, you will hear a very pronounced clunk in the front end when making left and or right hand turns. FYI, the noise in intensified in warm weather.
Your control arm, or "A" arm, connects your wheel spindle to the steering knuckle and chassis. It includes your ball joint as well as bushings, which can both wear out over time. Most vehicles have both an upper and lower control arm. Bad control arm bushings or ball joints can cause steering wheel vibration or wandering steering.

Those are the wheel bearing(s), upper/lower ball joints, or at bushings at the base of the control arm. You might also be getting deflection out of your tie rod ends or steering rack (if equipped) as well. You could also have a combination of the three going bad. There are different things you need to do to check to see if which part is bad.
